So subs that take longer to break in are probably long lasting subs.

No, it just means they are stupid stiff straight out of the box.

my RL-p 12s broke in realativly quick, now the spiders are nice and broke in. and you cant deny the durability of an RL-p great drivers

and some suspensions are not ment to become soft over time. Tripple and double stiff and progressive spiders will likely never get really loose.

gain from brakeing in can be as much as +-5dB or more in some cases. Yes, you can loose from brakeing in. Took my memphis M-Class 12's a week of me drivin to fully break in. Of course i was running a smaller amo, and it was in a sealed box... but you could definately tell when they had broken in. Hell you noticed a difference WHILE DRIVING... lol. Breaking in with rock FTW.
