Breaking in Subs?

I've been reading the forums and see stuff like people sayin they had to break in their subs. Do they really break in and how long would it take?

Just hook them up and use them like you normally would.

They will break in naturally with regular, normal, every-day use.

ya ive head my DP for about 6 months and still stiff as hell.

rock stiff...i mean i put like 250w rms to them each and they just wont break on me...and i want new subs bad...just need to wait for that surround to give way...i aint waitin no 6 more years...i want some new RE's..lol

YES there is a sound difference....honestly i dont hold the record on the forums for the most speaker experience or anything, but def noticed a change in the sub from brand new to after really pushing them for awhile.....

right when u get em the sound is alot tighter.....

over time as they loosen up more. yeah they will prolly be louder

I've probably listened to my sub for only about 4 hours so it's still a little ways from broken into for a while.

The sub's suspension will loosen up some, and there will be some shifting of the T/S parameters because of this.

But this will continue to happen over the sub's entire life span....

So subs that take longer to break in are probably long lasting subs.

what about giving a tc-3000 1400 watts out of the box would that be bad for it?
