1. DC, I have never owned shittier soft parts

3. Kicker, how did they get so ****** so fast?

4. Sundown, way overhyped for what you really get and how much it really cost, stupid gimmick surrounds that don't do anything special only lose cone area. Tied with JL for the most gullible fanboys.

Lol we have been over the surround thing before.. You can say it doesn't do anything all you want, doesn't make it true. It is good for SQ, even if they do have an issue with falling off.

I agree that DD and XS are great. Rockford is overpriced and kicker *****. I am not a fan of JL. I feel like you can get better equipment for your money. Why did you say JL has gullible fanboys? You said you like JL, lol...

Also, I disagree about Sundown. Yes, the surround takes away cone area. It almost isn't big enough for the Z4's excursion! The surround dimples when pushed to its limits. A normal surround would tear before it moved that far.

You can like something without being a fanboy. JL is amazing if used how it was intended. They hold more SQ titles than anybody and if you compare the price to other SQ brands they are actually cheap... The fanboys are the ones that think their W6s are the loudest subs ever.

I understand the first part, but not when you say that Sundown lacks excursion. My old SA8 V2 moved more than any 8 I've ever seen. My new X10 is crazy. A z4 has more than 4" of peak to peak travel and people have bottomed them out before. What subwoofer has more than 4 inches peak to peak? if there's something else out there that comes in a 10", I am legitimately interested

Z v.4 Series. 35mm one way.. No take away the 10% it loses in cone area and see what the actual displacement is.

Here is 31mm without a lose in cone area. XCON 12 Sound Solutions Audio 12" 1750W XCON Series Subwoofer - SSA STORE. That's pretty standard for that price range.

Also how do we have such a expensive nuthugged brand that has a top shelf sub come off a shipping container?

One way exursion is a lot more complicated than you'd think. The 35mm is a rating given to it, but is not what the driver is physically capable of before damage. As for the XCON, I really don't like the motor structure for some reason... I could also buy a Z4 12" for $397 shipped from Sundown (reconed with guarantee). For the Setup in my car, I feel like excursion is a greater need than cone area. Its complicated... I was just wondering if any other 10" sub had more excursion.

If cone area is your main concern, I could get a PSI upgraded recone for it. The Z4 motor is great and would still allow more travel.

You are not getting anymore than you are paying for when you buy Sundown. And in some points you are getting less compared to the price range.

I was considering Tantric for my next system. How would an HDD do in a small ported box (~28 Hz) on 3.5k with great electrical. My box is about 1 cube after normal driver displacement and I have a rediculously long aeroport. I don't have hardly any box room at all, and had to pipe the port around things. Its complicated... I have an 86 Fiero. I'll post pics after I carpet my new box

So, do you think it would be a good Idea to recone a blown Z4 with A PSI recone that has more cone area? If it still moves as much, it would have a lot of displacement. I'm just thinking about my next install.
