So, do you think it would be a good Idea to recone a blown Z4 with A PSI recone that has more cone area? If it still moves as much, it would have a lot of displacement. I'm just thinking about my next install.

I don't think you understand. Displacement makes bass. It takes more than one spec to get displacement.

I know, displacement is a combination of cone area and excursion. Half of the surround is factored into the usable cone area.

Is Peak to peak or one way excursion used? I forget

Its basically how much air the sub moves

i went tantric and glad i did. for the price of a zv4 i can just about get a shd. its my personal opinion, not trying to knock sundown. had a saz 5k and the thing was a monster

Is an SHD more than a Z4? I'm not trying to knock Tantric either. I have no experience with them, but have only heard good things.

I haven't heard bad stuff about sundown amps like the saz, but have never had the cash to try... sadly

by a little bit. the shd is also a 5k watts rms woofer. if you know what your doing they will take more thank 5k

I have slightly less than 3.5k of clean power right now. If you're familiar with MA audio, my amp uses the HK4000d board. I probably won't upgrade to a 16v electrical.

Well I'm still in High School and only work part time. I might get more money this summer and upgrade, but I don't see 10K in the near future... haha

I like DD for subs. Used them for years now, and always likes the older Earthquake amps.
