Brand Check???

Sorry man I have to be honest with you I have no clue what you said? Im really new to well all of this stuff. What is the point of a Kicker??? What is Cvr's??? and what is the bogo free??? Again I am sorry but I just dont really know the lingo.... YET lol.
What he was talking about was the Kicker CompVR Buy1 Get1 free sale going on until June 30th at almost all of Kicker's authorized retailers.

I will assume that you have at least heard of Kicker before?

If not just be aware that Kicker is one of the longest-running and most highly respected brand names in the aftermarket car audio industry. Many world records at various soundoff competitions have been set using their higher-end gear.

The CompVR is one model of subwoofer that they manufacture/sell. If you see CVR in reference to Kicker that's shorthand for CompVR as it is easier/quicker to type out.

In all actuality patrick's suggestion is a really good one. For the novice user the CompVR is a more than capable subwoofer and at the current BOGO (BuyOneGetOne) pricing they are a really hard-to-beat deal for the money.

A pair of CVR 8s would run you $100, a pair of 10s would hit you for $130, a pair of 12s would hit you for $150, and a pair of 15s would hit you for $250.

10s or 12s would likely be your best bet as they wouldn't need near so much space as a pair of 15s and adequate amplification for them would be easier and less expensive to source.

So - let's say you get a pair of CompVR 10s from www.crutchfield.com.

Those would run you $129.99/shipped for the pair. (call it $130)

That leaves $170 of your $300 budget for an amp.

If you bought the Dual 4 Ohm versions of the CVR then you would want an amp that makes 800-1000w at either 1 Ohm or 4 Ohms.

Something like this would work just fine and fall within your stated budget. That particular seller on eBay is one I am personally familiar with and feel safe recommending him to anyone. You pay? He ships. End story. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif

So now that I have spent your stated $300 budget you could then sell your existing gear to fund either buying or having built a suitable enclosure for the Kickers as well as getting the appropriate wiring to hook it all up!

Certainly that isn't the only path available for getting a decent substage on a budget but it's one of the better ones, in my humble opinion...

lmao it's ok there's no such thing as a "KICKER" unless you are pretaining to having component speakers in the kick panels up front but in kicker is the brand and they make amps, subs, comps, and other car audio a sub is usually anything 8" or above in which it produces freq below usually around 60 herts or lower hence the word sub

Wow lol thats alot of info to take in. But yeah I would definetly be looking at those exsepcially with the bogo offer. Seems like a great deal.

If its a unanimous descison (SP on both of those) lets assume I do get dual 12's. I already have a box for one and would need to make/buy another box.

Sorry for being the newbie again but what do all the olm's mean??? I know that if the watts are 600 apiece I would need a 2 way 1200 watt amp... Correct??? Please let me know thanks.

Thanks a ton for all of the help.

well i should have worded that differently...
what model kenwood do you have? 2 ch. or mono? whats the RMS ratting at 1 @4ohm
To be honest I know nothing at all about it.... im not even 100% sure if it is Kenwood. I know my first 350 watt one was but that got fryed... I will go check and get back to you in just a minute.

don't do the bandpass box that one looks fine the other one you posted but seriously you can get alot more outta your system with a custom built box tuned like around 30-35 hz if you know anybody that can i would or ask on here allot of people will do it and a sheet of mdf is like 21.99 at lowes that one sheet would be enough to build a box
