Alright right now I have my starter sub / amp. The sub is a 1100 W sony X-plode and 650 watt Kenwood amp.

The sub itself doesnt hit hard and well thats what Im looking for.

Alright now that I know lanzar blows lol Im just looking for the best set up I can get for 250-350. please let me know what you would recomend.

So far with a ton of help from patrick and prowler this is what I am leaning towards.

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-shpc4YJ...0&I=2067C12VR4 the 12 inch there so 2 of them woot woot

a custom box built bye on of you so I can have the best sound lol.

Now I need an amp to supply the right amout of power.

What would you guess recomend??? Im looking for something that hits hard but is affordable. Im probably lookin under 300. I know its not much to work with but what would you view as the best set up?

Welcome to the forum.

For starters, by looking at your post you've fallen into the same trap that has caught many a novice to this hobby.

That trap would be the advertisement of Peak or Max wattage - which as you gain knowledge you will come to understand to be a completely irrelavent figure.

RMS or Continous wattage is a much more pertinent statistic when talking about car audio gear.

That Sony Xplod subwoofer you have would become very unhappy if you input anywhere near 1.1kW into it and I'd wager your Kenwood "650" watt amp doesn't output even half of that in everyday, usable power.

As to your question, however, generally Lanzar is synonymous with garbage. The only real exception to that generality is their Opti line of gear....of which that linked-to product doesn't belong. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Here's a better way to approach this.....what is your budget to spend on aftermarket audio gear? With that information we could make considerably more educated suggestions to try and get you some gear that is actually worth owning - that model Lanzar and pretty much everything branded as a Dual product doesn't make the cut, unfortunately....

Got you thanks for the info im looking to spend from 200-300 on subs and I guess if I need to get a new amp. What would you assume is the selling price for the x-plod the box and the amp??? Whatever that is you can add that to the amount I will spend. So I guess what is an upgrade over what I have where it will kick? But is still affordable. Please let me know. And to everyone thanks a ton for all the info so far.

get kicker some website has kicker cvr's i believe bogo free
Sorry man I have to be honest with you I have no clue what you said? Im really new to well all of this stuff. What is the point of a Kicker??? What is Cvr's??? and what is the bogo free??? Again I am sorry but I just dont really know the lingo.... YET lol.

it's cool we've all been there but yea kicker is a good brand that can take what they say i've taken my 10" kicker cvr and put 1kw rms and it took it fine but not at all means the best just some good entry level subs
