I am running my brahma off an ESX 475.1 mono block bridged 1 ohm for my sub. Having some heat issues and some power issues. A freind recommended getting a CLass D amplifier and that should solve quite a few issues. I love the sound I get now with the ESX but after weeks of searching for better alternator or ways to install duel alts in my 98 stratus I have had no luck. So if anyone has a clue as to a good class D It would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

But does the jbl 1200.1 have a subsonic filter? I was looking at that particular amp. From what I have read on these forums that is a good amp for the brahma. But feel I need a filter for the sub.

Thanks

No, it doesn't have a subsonic filter. You would need to purchase that seperately I'm afraid.

If you have the budget to purchase a different amp, I suggest doing so - the 1200.1's have been known to do some funny things at times.

Depending on your box size, an amp on this page may be worthwhile too look at: http://caraudio.com/vb/showthread.php?t=31963

you can purchase subsonic filters?? what exactly does a subsonic filter do??? and why is it better to have one than to not???

well actually what you would most likely purchase is an FMOd.. its more of a passive crossover that has a set frequency. Subsonic filter basically is set at a point in which it takes out subsonic frequency's, or frequency's the sub is not made to produce. In a ported application (when a SSF is most recomended) it is set so no frequency's below the tuning of the box will come to the sub, if freq's that are lower than the tuning of the box send to the sub it will try to produce them and in this action the sub will over work itself (excursion, tc) and overworking is no good.. hope that helped a little..

Well I attached a pdf file of my current box design. Will definately have to get a Class D my current voltage system just cant handle the ESX 475.1 at high volumes. Any recommendations as far as a 400 dollar range amplifier would really be appreciated.

Thanks
