Boy needs a system for about $400

Hey my friend is looking around for a cheap system. He doesnt know much about bass and spl and all of that he just listens to it and thinks everything is loud. He heard my boys two 10" sony xplods and thinks they hit pretty good. Problem is he's kinda picky. He wants everything to be the same brand. So if he got the sony xplods he wants sony components and a sony amp. What setups do you guys recommend (subs and amp)? Budget is $400 i can push it to maybe $450. Suggestions...

So you're saying that everything has to be sony? If thats the case i say tell your boy to save his money to buy something MUCH better than any sony product....

I say if everything is going to be the same brand, look into alpine, then pioneer. Sony would be my last choice for an all one brand system...

For now he wants the same brand subwoofer(s) and amp. I told him to stay away for Sony that they arent that good for car audio but he says he likes the way it sounded and its cheap.

Ok one word of advice....if you hear sony and system in the same sentence come out of his mouth...slap him ***** and sell his clothes.

after putting in some Second Skin damplifier, b-stock to my front doors... i say spend $100 on deading the car, mostly the front doors.... this will make whatever system you put into it sound THAT much better.

I would go with the Pioneer idea. Pick up a couple of 3000SPL's maybe, he should enjoy those MUCH better than the Xplods:laugh:

3000spls = the win

the 1500spl 10's would out preform any sony 15's or whatever, any day.

the 860w amps are like 140 bux, and you can pick up the subs for like 140 shipped too.

so 280+ wires, box, like 400 bucks

woot.

Can you give me a link to where they may sell them. I looked at Ikesound and see that they dont carry SPL.
