Box???

Ok so from what you guys have told me in the last few days I have decided on 3 10" 2 ohm Kicker Comp VR's and a Power Acoustik 2100w mono block amp. Since these will be going behind my seat the box will not be able to be very big. Because of this should I make it sealed instead of ported??? I measured all the demensions behind my seat and this is what I came up with:

I think its gonna end up bein about 2.5 cu ft. Is this big enough to port. Or are these subs louder in a sealed box????

id keep it sealed... i have a cvr 12 4 ohm in a 2.0 cu ft box and it gets pretty loud.

yeah, that's about perfect for three CVR 10's sealed. way too small to port them, though.

How many lbs of poly fill do you think I would need. I did the math and the box is only like 1.5 sq/ft. Thanks for the responses.

IMO, makes it fuller. A lot of people may argue that. I would definitely put poly in there. Is the box 1.5ft^3, or 2.5ft^3? If 1.5, honestly, you will prob get louder with just 2. Those CVR's need a little room to come alive. I have 2 CVR 12's in a cube a piece, and they really act like they need more. I would go 2 CVR's with aero ports. That should get louder than the 3 sealed. Even if it was all one chamber, that small of a box I have to think atleast one sub will become passive.

What type of truck is this going in? Your box is very shallow on top, and deep in the bottom. That is not going to help seat space any. I would proportion that out a little more, maybe 5" on top, and 11 bottom depth. That would probably get you a little more seat room. Is 47" as long as you can get?

I would think so. 3 CVR's in 1.5 just screams poo to me.

Its a 1996 f150 regular cab with a bench seat. The back wont recline and with the angle the seat back is on. That is the deepest the box can be at the top.

Yea two ported would be louder than sealed. If you can do two ported I say go for it. They really come alive ported

what should the length and diameter of the port be??? Also where should the port be located?? there is a drawing of the box in my first post.
