Box tuning for Rock/Punk

[DFW40 10+ year member]

I have always tuned my boxes around 30hz for SQ reasons and they have always had great low end but seem to lack around that 45-55hz range. This is where my sub starts to lose its pop and the mids just cannot hit around 50hz. The boxes do fine on a low kick drum but some of the higher kick drum freq just do not seem to smack me in the back. Most of the music I listen to makes me think I should tune my box higher. Any suggestions 35hz or so?

With rock music..I've always preferred under 35hz....
