Box for 18" hdc3

My max dimensions I can do are 26" x 22" x 12"

This is a drawing in paint of how I would like to do it.

I just don't know basically anything about how my port should be, if the box is even big enough for an 18, or if I should run a 15 or 12 instead.

Can I get some opinions/help on what I'm doing?

5674.66=3.284

Looks like your gonna have to use a 12", you might be able to run a 15 tho.

If I was to put a 12 in a box with these dimensions, can someone give me some specifications for the port? I don't really know the first thing about all of that. I'm guessing 35hz is pretty good for a dd?

OK i think I got it right.

I went off of audioque's reccomendations on their website and got

sub box for 12" aq hdc3

~40hz

outside

26 x 22 x 12

inside

24.5 x 20.5 x 10.5

3.05 cubic feet - .45 port volume = 2.6 cubic feet

49 sq inches port

2.38 inches wide

8.12 deep down

7.88 along bottom.

port volume = .45 cubic feet

sound good?

If you really want to do a 15", you could do a 15" Sundown Nightshade with that space, should work well.

Nah I don't have room for that, its in the trunk of a 1971 monte carlo.

Do people ever run the wires out of the port?

'71 monte has a BIG *** trunk. You should be able to fit an 18 in the proper sized enclosure...
