well i really dont know the diff in SQ and SPL and SQL and whatever else there is. i know i want to "feel it inside me" haha.
Sounds like you are more interested in SPL, then. The X is not exactly the most ideal sub for such an application, but they will chew up the lows with ease. And with the power you're running to it, you'll be able to feel it for sure.

I agree, not that the Alpine wont get loud, just its ment to sound good first. I really think you need to build you a sealed box based off of Alpine recommendations. But since you like it loud, the ported box would prob be better suited for you.

Truthfully, I have no exp with the sub, so I could tell you which would be louder. But, I know if you smelling that sub, you need to crank that gain down. Its in a box not recommended for it, trying to give you the output you want homie.

i did turn the gain down, and it's just not hittin me in the chest like i would hope. i think i'll swap my mtx back in until i can get a box together for the x.

I got to get up with you and check out the setup sometime. I think swaping out the X for the MTX would be best right now until you can get that box built.

well there were a few other factors, but the system is why i got pulled over. "could be heard from 50 feet"... my ***... he was maybe 20ft

LOL, thats how it is here sometimes, I got a ticket for noise ordinance back in 02 and the only thing I had in my car was a pair of Memphis Tweeters. Gave me that 20ft B.S. but I was like its only highs I have no subs period. Just stupid.

The last one I got was back at the end of 05, ticket cost me $205. I only had (1) 12 in my trunk, just something I had laying around and hooked up, but it was durning the holidays and they were just trying to meet there quota.
