box that is .5 too small

ive searched and read into this a little bit but not quite sure if i got it straight. i want to get a sub that wants 2 cubic feet and my ported box is 1.5 cubic feet. what exactly will this do... just make it so i lose a little bit of frequency or is there more to it?

Well, you could invert it and have an extierior port if you want more room. But I think you like the looks as is
