Box terminal, I don't like the looks of it...

I just went out to the store today and got a terminal to install on my sub box, but when I look at the leads for the quick disconnect, they look really small. I'm talking like 2-3mm wide and maybe .5-1mm thin. These thing do not look like they will handle my sub & amp (Eclipse sw7200 and PG X600.1).

Should I try and get a new one or just make some terminals on my own? Also what gauge wire should I use to go from the back of the terminal to the sub. I haven't seen anything really stating clearly what I need. I have some 12 gauge laying around but I don't want to screw myself over with bad wire and connections. Let me know what you think and what I should do.

If you're talking about the radioshack spring style terminals, they'll accept wires up to 12 gauge easily. If you're using 10 ga or larger, you may need the screw type terminals seen on home theatre systems.

I opened up the box last night and didnt notice that there are two giant gold plates on the back, I'll just solder those on and it should be fine. Thanks for the help anyways, I just got myself all up in a riot for nothing.
