I'm doing either 2 10" SD-2's, or 2 10" Dayton HO's. Either will work fine sealed I think. Just trying to figure out which orientation I will like better

EDIT: I also don't have the tools to build a complex box, just a circular saw and basic drill.

That's all u need other than something to cut out the speaker holes...

what year chevy? I have always been a little partial to downfiring the subs for most newer chevy crew cabs. for older than 07 might be easier to do it behind the seat but not much room to play with.

It's an 01, which doesn't have a lot of room under or behind the seats. Most room I could get is .7 cu/ft before displacements per sub, which I don't feel like is enough to effectively port a 10, even if it is an HO/SD-2

port them firing to the front ports to the side you will get more mounting depth and airspace plus it will sound better. Mount your amps behind the rear seat. I dont knowhow much room u have but alpine and jl make decent subs with less than 6" mounting depth. Your not gonna find monster subs with less depth than that so your gonna want to go ported to increase efficiency.
