Box spec for American Bass XFL 15"

Well, I'm having a little trouble finding the specs for a box for my American Bass XFL 1544 Sub's. I have one Box already built that had a single Sundown SA-15 in it and the box is 3.5^ with a slot port frequency of 32-hrz. Would this box be fine for the sub or do I need something else? I was going to just use it and then I had a guy tell me not to because those sub's needed at least a 4.0^ and frequency of 35-hrz or they wouldn't sound right. I don't know enough to understand what I need and can't find it on the net. Thanks guys

Run it 4 cu ft plus port ...port opening 56 sq inches go slot 26" long

4-4.5 cubes @ low 30's, port area varies but 12-16.
