Box Question for my w6

JL recommends a .625 cube box for a sealed enclosure... they recommend 14.5 in. x 12 in. x 10.25 in.

the top comes off my car and sits in the back, so I need a really thin box. If I built the box 7.4 inches deep to accomodate the depth of the sub, and then adjust the other dimensions accordingly will that be okay?

the next question...

what are the negitive effects, if any, of having the magnet resting on the bottom of the box?

for example, my sub has 7.9 inches mounting depth. if the inner distance from the top of the box to bottom of the box was 7.9 inches would that cause a problem?
