Box placement

Does it matter which way the box faces in the vehicle?

I have a tahoe with the box facing towards the rear. The box is a single 12 with slot port. Should i face it towards the front with the seat down for higher spl or lay it down so that it fires upward?

any suggestions and funny comments gladly accepted
