box opinions RE xxx

I'm re-doin my system, and I just picked up a nib old Orion xtr 2400 to push a single RE xxx12 2ohm sub.. I want this in a nice box, and I don't want to build it myself. There's not many good car audio shops in my area either. The original specs from RE for the rec. enclosure for this sub were way off, and the only nice box I've seen that addresses this is from Fatbox, and that one costs about $600 w/shipping.. ouch.. any ides would be much appreciated.

Is it a dual or single 2 RE 12 ? that sub will need a 2.0 cu ft box plus port so about 2.5 cu ft total....the port opening needs to be 30 sq inches...and 24" long if using a slot port...It will sound great on most music....

im having network probs w/Comcast tonight.. wicked slow.. Its a single sub, and i read somewhere in here a tech from RE said 2.843 total would be more accurate. I dont wanna build it myself though. I'd like to find either a used custom one, or a Co. similar to Fatbox i guess. $600 is steep. they won't tell ya the specs they're using either..

There are people on here that can build a better and cheaper box for you and ship it.

maybe i'll try to go that route then, cuz i'm not even installing it in my Jeep until spring..

sometimes its better to have your box shipped and pieces marked and holes pre drilled so you can assemble and silicon it yourself...then you can spray it down with about 3 cans of cheap flat black paint then take about 2 to 3 cans of bedliner spray paint and give it a nice textured finish...some people still like old school look of fleckstone ...if using that find a color that closely matches color your using and base the box in that before painting with desired color finish....
