Box Log - Three 1242D's,8.5cuft, 2000+Watts RMS

I am currently building a box for my 3 Type-R Subs for my Ext Cab F250.

The box will two 44in^ports for a total of 88 square inches. The Net Size and tuning is 8.5^3 Ft and tuning is just about 36hz on these bad boys. The power comes through a run of 2/0 Wire with the big three done in the front of the truck in 2/0 also. Here is the crappy plan that Ive drawn up, I will post pics soon! Tonight or tomorrow sometime. Paitience!

That is the amp in the plexi with a smoke effect from sparying the edges with silver paint, the plexi that is.

I will have actual box pics up soon! It needs some finish work, carpet, resin, And testing! What do you guys think? The amp is the PA 3000DB For now. LOud?

I should have real pics up soon any ideas on covering for this thing? Im thinking paint and then having a silver sharpie for signatrues of random people on the front (Friends and stuff haha!)

There's a paint, I saw it at CES or SEMA one year but it was chalkboard...I've been wanting to do something with the chalkboard paint and your idea just revived it, lol. Its expensive though....very expensive but would definitly be unique and awesome.

Well here is what i have so far. The small amp is an autotek and the other is a PA3000DB.

I was testing it with the one sub that i have right now and it was very interesting.

I used a 2x12 and some foam and i tried putting it over the ports and holes in different combinations and sitting on it to seal it up halfway decent and WOW when i have all the box covered except for one port, its mediocre but if i slide the board down and expose the middle sub hole like this HOLY SH*T ITS EXTREMELY LOUD.

I had it at very low volume and moving that board around can make it very quiet to rattilng stuff on the walls. i hve no idea how i would calculate the tuning for this but it is mch much louder. It almost makes mewant to get rid of this box and make a box with 6" aeros so i can play with the tuning because it makes a HUGE difference. When i slide the board more to the end and expose the other port it quiets down again. This is in my garage not in truck but my plan now is to just get 1 more woofer because i think it will be louder than sticking 3 in there.

I know it looks like crap but im too lazy/broke to buy more sandpaper and paint so i just said screw it. I also dont have a table saw or anything but a drill, jigsaw and *tiny* cordless circular saw. I didnt even bother covering the back or bottom totally with paint since it wont be visible.

Im Looking for a used 1242d!!!!!Let me know what you have.

Idk i might find some interesting covering in the fabric section at walmart but it will be hard to make it flush on the plexi window edges and im just sick of working on this box haha it might not look like it but ive spent hours sanding that thing with 60 grit and 150 and it still isnt smooth

work your way up thru the grits until you get to 400 then prime and paint and you might end up with something alot smoother or you can keep going ....i was bored one day and sanded an enclosure from 60-1200 grit and it shined literally

I think the difference in output of the one sub, was due to the other two sub cutouts being open. With three in there it will be plenty loud... and sealed up better, using only the two ports. Trust me... it will be much better once finished...
