box location in a car

I currently have my IA DR box resting on my back seats for a temporary set up so it's easy to remove if needed. I was wondering about the best box location in cars and if im canceling my bass out because of my trunk. I do have the seats up with the sub facing towards the front and the port up.

I will eventually be making a box that no more than 14" high for my trunk.

I think this is in the wrong place but i'm not sure because i'm not asking about box designs just location.

You better pray that you are not involved in an accident with that box unsecured on your rear seat!

since you have a trunk lidded car i would have the subs facing the back and the port up
