Box issue

So I built my 3 cubic foot burp box, tuned to 47 hz(rez freq of my car). Put it in, hooked up the SPL Meter and hit 2 db higher than I hit tuned at 34hz in a full cubic foot to small box. Can anyone give me some ideas, pointers, or suggestions on why and how this is possible. It doesn't really even sound much louder on a burp to me. The box is built to spec, has 45's in all corners, no air leaking out anywhere, and a straight port(no L).

for some 2db would b the diff from first and second place at a show. i know to you it might b alot but there is people that would take that increase and take the first place in there class. try to move things around what kind of power you sending to your sub? you set your amp up right now

I have a single 12 inch warden. I have a soundstream 4k pushing about 3k to it roughly power wise. I am just aiming to move from 140 to 146 at least. I only had 2200 watts on it when i hit the 140 and the box was 34hz 2cubic feet. Now I have 3k and im only hitting 142-143 tops. Something is seriously wrong.

yea bro even my 12inch mag off a audioque 1200d was moving some air and i was tune to 32hz. the box was 2cubic feet net at 32 hZ. i would think with that kind of power yhou would b up around 145 at least.

i have a tiburon its a hatch, i had sub back port back i know alot of people do sub up port up or sub up port back. if you have a trunk you can do sub back port back or sub back port to the side. you have your subsonic set right?

you might gain a . 2 or so lol . im havin my issue with getin a box together for a hdc315 so i wish you good luck.

Try moving your box around a little bit. What frequency did you peak at when you got metered? If your car peaks at 47hz then you don't want to tune to that. Tune 3-4hz lower and the peak should be right around 47hz. That could have cost you a db right there.

I peaked at 50, but a friend recomended I tune the box a lil lower so i went with 47hz was gonna go with 45hz originally.

Sub and port forward, seal off the trunk...

Tried that. Hit stupid low numbers tuned to the same freq.
