I am building a sealed rear firing box for a couple of Boston G5 12's. The enclosure at max can be 32 inches wide, 12 inches deep. Height is not restricted. 2 chambers. It will be constructed of 3/4 MDF. I am curious what my final dimensions will be with those parameters changed from Bostons recommended which is

Model: G512

H = Height: 10.5" (26.7cm

W = Width: 13.0" (33.1cm)

D = Depth: 13.0" (33.1cm)

Gross Volume: 1.0 Ft3 (28.3L)

Q-Tune™†: (HP & Q) 28Hz@0.707

Enclosure dimensions are internal and include basket displacement

I come up with internal diameters of

H = 13

W = 14

D = 9.5

With a double thick front I come up with external diameters of

H = 14.5

W = 30.25

D = 11.75

Am i right?

Id go a little bigger on the box try to get 1.25cuft per woofer because u are not taking into account the woofer displacement ...if u have the room i highly suggest porting the G5s in around 4cuft tuned at 32hz, i still miss the one g5 i had that was ported in a 2 cuft box tuned to 32hz

they recommend 1 cube gross.

take whatever box dimension in inches LxWxH/1728 to get cubic feet and your goal is 1.0

with sealed, you won't have to worry so much about the shape, just the volume.
