I thought that was too low, and how do i figure where my car peaks?

an 88 a corolla sedan with the back seat out. But my amp rack is where the backrest is and is blocking most of the hole would that be holding back a db or two?

You can't really know unless you test it each way, but I imagine there is some more potential if you fully clear the opening from the trunk.

okay thanks. Another question i had was is my amp to much for my subs or not? I have a treo ssx 800.1 and am runnig the subs @ 1ohm with the gain at a little over half. and the subs are rated at 750w rms

I'm not familiar with the power ratings for the 800.1. But from my experience, more clean power is better than too little power, because when you have too little power for your setup, you're more likely to overdrive the amp trying to get the output you're wanting, which leads to either hurting your amp or your subs, or both, in the process.
