Is the sealed box shown in the example on JL's site the one they reccomend or is it an example? I will need a new box and need to know if that is the one i need to build...http://www.jlaudio.com/subwoofers/pdfs/12W7_MAN.pdf Scroll down to page 4 to see it..

And how do you calculate the size of a box? I mean if i have the dimensions is there a way to know the cubic feet?

L x W x H = ?/1728 = Cubic feet.

Example.

A box of 13" x 12" x 16.5" = 1811.25/1728 = 1.05

Remeber to use internal dimmensions. As above, .75" building material was deducted from the dimmensions.

If there is a port, calculate the port area the same way and deduct it from the box volume. Same for speaker displacment...

Does it matter if i build the whole thing out of 3/4"MDF, or do i need to use bigger for the front of the box? Because i saw on ebay that the boxes all thicker fronts than the rest of the box? Does it matter?

Using 2 pieces for the front makes the box more stable. Less Flexing and with the weight of a W7 it is a good idea. Although not a requirement...

Bracing is also a good idea
