well after looking at other post i still havent decided on what kind of box to get. sealed or ported?? i'm leaning towards ported but will the sub be able to handle around 500WRMS in a ported box? if it will work fine i'm gonna get this box

If you want more spl go ported. Not that the sq will be bad. I saw someone with 800W RMS going into a type R ported and it sounded great. It shouldn't be a problem.
