15" Avalanche vs 2 12" Alpine Type-r (2005)

Hello.. I'm having a tough time making up my mind.

I am looking for a SQL system.. that can slam but sound good when I need it to.

I want to have good low frequency responce and good output. I will most likely be porting either way. Which setup would be the best for my needs?

Avalanche 15" with 1000watts

or

Alpine Type-r (2005) with 600-800 watts(each).

I listen to rap/rock/emo/d&bass/techno

I was wondering which setup. would have better low end responce and which one would be louder as well.. Space isn't that much of an issue either. Also, Please only comment if you have HANDS ON experience with either driver.. THanks

What kind of space do you have in the trunk? I personally would pick the Ava. It should get pretty loud, and it would put a little less strain on the electrical system if you're doing 1000 watts vs 1200 to 1600.

Avalanche gets my vote. I think you will like the sound better. Im also kida biased because my friend has one. I love the way the speaker sounds.

you do understand the alpine typeR is more compairable to the ascendant audio atlas- not the avalanche.

typeX is to avalanche, as typeR is to atlas.

800w will wang a avalanche. 400w will wang an atlas.

$300 is to avalanche, as 160 is to atlas.

av or the atlas is my choice, depending on your space, electrical, impedance, and power limitations.
