Well i have a RE 8 for HT. I also have a 120 PE plate amp on the way. I think 154 rms into 4 ohms.

Anyways, the obvious solution would be run the RE8 Sealed. But Wanted to know what a good tuning frequency would be if i went ported for home audio.

Actual numbers would help.

If this is a new RE8 it will be dual 4ohm....if your getting the amp I think you are it will be 110w at 8ohm, which is where you will have to run it.

As far as tuning I have mine in my truck tuned to 33 and they play down to 28 decently...I have 7 of them though. With one in a regular ported box I wouldn't expect too much out of it for lows in a house. A line, bandpass, or even a horn might be a better idea to help boost the output of that guy.

He did a bandpass for two 5" and pretty sure he did a 6.5 or 8" TL...not sure of the results he got though.

the 8 wasn't a TL it was a huge port, kinda snailshell w/o a choke, let me look around.....

I have it .4 cubes sealed right now.

I 1 cube tuned to 35 sound good. That just seems right in my for some reason
