box for Kicker 11S12L72 which is better single vs duel

ok so, i already have a box for the 2 Kicker 11S12L72. i was told kicker does a better job by it self in a single box. Is this true?

as long as its proper air space for both the 2 will crush a single

also as long as you are not giving 500w to a pair or 1000w to a single

im currently wired as 2 ohm, but for some reason rockford fosgate says different with there wizard vs the wizard on this site and as well kicker has a different method. i dont know who's diagram to go with.
