Box for Fi Q15

If I were to buy a Fi Q15 would a area in my 98 toyota corolla trunk fit a ported box for it? the rough measurement are about 15 high, 20 deep, and about 30 wide. Would mdf need to be thicker than 3/4"?

That would be a tight squeeze over all for a 15.

I would look at other options personally.

mine as well, i put a q 15 in the trunk of a taurus and didnt have a lot of room left.

Ok so I have pretty much made up my mind that i am going to try to get the Fi SSD 12 at 2ohm. I would want want build my own ported box. I have never really tried to make a box so I would need some help with designs. In the end I will want the box to just be painted black an then have a strnciled Fi logo in blue on the side to match the dustcap. Last part was just an idea

Would kerfs make the sound noticable better in this case?

Most of the time a Kerfed port will not make a massive alteration to the sound you actually hear. It can but the likely hood is very small. They do look better though.

As for doing the enclosure yourself, there are several vendors and members here that do designs but most of us charge for those but they are easy to follow and will normally yield an overall great product assuming your craftsmanship is on par with the design.

As for you ideas on painting and logos. Here are few pointers for you to consider when painting and such.

1. Sand away any imperfections from building then enclosure.

2. Bondo all seems to hide them and make the enclosure..well...seemless..

3. A good way to do the logo is to first primor the whole enclosure. Then pick out the area you want the logo to be and paint a larger area then the logo will be with blue paint. Lay down a vinyl graphic decal of the logo/design you want blue. Once you have done that paint the whole enclosure black with the decal in place. Give the paint time to set and then pull the graphic off which should reveal a blue logo if done correctly. Then clear it and your done.

Not sure what you mean here? Who are "they" and what are they charging for?
