Can you explain this a little further, like what exactly happens? I've just never heard of it before.
I have not had it happen to me, but friends in the industry told me about if an enclosure is too small the sub can freeze from the pressure buildup. I have seen and touched frozen subs, but not exactly sure on the physics behind the phenomenon

 
Thats from getting the coils hot lol. It wouldnt make sense for a sub to lock up on proper power. I would imagine the cone shifts the coil and it gets mashed up in there. But we shouldnt be running that much power lulz
