building a box for a friend.. going in an explorer.. he wants it to be a dual woofer box to fit the both of them in one enclosure.. he wants to go sealed and hes gona be running it off a hifonics BXi1606D.

anyone got some nice box specs they could send me over so i can go to work..

need anymore info just ask.

thanks

i would but we are trying to save space

how big would the box have to be for 2 R's ported.. were trying not to take up his whole trunk.. but if we could get away with some type of small port i would rather go that way.. just tryin to save as much room as we can.

any specs guys?

x2. I had the old ones sealed and ported and they sounded 10x better sealed...at least to me ears...
The older ones didn't sound half bad...I can't find anything redeemable about the new ones other than they can fart loudly //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif

The same can be said about far too many mainstream drivers currently available //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

does anyone have the specs on the type R that i can use for caculating my box?

were really tryin to save trunk space so unless ported wont take up the whole trunk the we want to try going sealed

if the 30" is the distance between the wheel wells, take my idea and extend the top half of the box over them. This gives you more volume and doesnt take up much more space. Also, building the box to the slant of the seats instead of a rectangular prism can help you gain more volume. This method isnt the easiest by any means, and can take a while to put together, but its gef worth it in my opinion. Heres my box. Took some time to construct, but was def worth it and saved me lots of room. That box is 4.5 cuft tuned to 32 hz.

i assume its a 95-01 explorer. in that case there is 41.5 wide (between the wheel wells), 17 high (min) and about 36 deep to work with. with that power i extremely recommend going ported with one sub.

this box here turned out very well:

if you want it to take up the whole width then do something like this: (for an explorer, 15'' type R.)
