Box for 2 12" Type R's (ported)!

hey, i finally got my system together, and i'm in need of a box for my type r's. I have 2 12" (4ohm), running off a Hifonics 1608 amp. I want to go ported for sure.and after reading some threads about the type r's, i'll go 32Hz, and i guess the box will be like 4.5 cubic ft.. (also, i would like the box carpeted (black). Do you guys think that will be good for the R's? i'm not looking at building the box myself, so could you guys recommend me a place online, or someone on the forum that builds good boxes? My price range is about $200. that would be awesome, so i could finally get my system in. thanks.

yes, the R's do extremely well in an enclosure like that. I'de reccomend 5cu ft @ 34hz, but 4.5 @32 will do great

oh, and look up bjfish here on the forums to build your box. I'm not sure what it will cost though.

I'm pretty sure he is quite a bit more expensive.

Your pretty much right. A carpeted ported box is quoted at $220. That is for 5 cubes.

i have a Cadillac CTS, and the trunk is designed where it isn't completely level. Like the back of the trunk it higher than the front. now that i think of it, i'm not sure how the box will sit, (like it won't be level).

Well, that's easy enough to work around, just have the bottom of the enclosure follow the step up in the floor pan of the trunk. No sense wasting space because of a little detail as you have described.

6-700 will be ok.

if you have more don't hesitate to give them it.
