BOX for 12w7....

I had a JL500/1 on my 12W7 for a LONG time. It hit hard as hell. It was in a small sealed enclosure made by subzone. I know i wasn't pushing the sub to it's potential, but its not "dumb" to use a 500/1 if you don't have money for something else at the time and the 500/1 is already in your possesion.
Thanks for the info Holty, its good to know that a 12w7 will still hit hard off of a 500/1, but I never said I had in my possesion a 500/1, I just said previously I was thinking of getting a 500/1 and a 10w7, but Now I'm for sure going to get a PG Xenon 1200.1 and a 12w7 in a ported box 1.80^3ft tuned @ 32hz.

What I meant by when I said "It would be dumb" is in regards to buying a 500/1 for a 12w7 when you could buy a PG Xenon 1200.1 for the same price. I wasn't saying that it wouldn't push it.

Well Im gonna buy a PG Xenon 1200.1 for $337.50 from http://www.hifisoundconnection.com I have ordered in the past from this company and they are very friendy to work with on the phone.

Here is a direct link to the PG Xenon 1200.1 ....

I've also allready did a buy now on a new in box 12w7 from ebay for $520 shipped to me.

Last step is to decide on where to get my box or who to build it for me?

refurbished amp is about the same as buying a reconed sub....i dont see a big problem with it.

i reccommend going a little big bigger than JL spec for your box.

Cool, thanks for the input. I noticed your box is much larger then what JL says it should be, have you heard a similiar setup like yours in a smaller box?

ive heard 1 in JL spec
and one thats 2.5 cubes.
Hmm well now I'm debating on what guidlines to base my box off of for my 12w7... hmm I guess it cant hurt going to 2.0^3ft as long as I keep it tuned to 32hz. It seem liked the opinions of most people is that a bigger box = more bass, is this true in most cases that its better to go a lil bigger then spec rather then a lil smaller?

2 cubes would be fine. i suggest aeroports as well. no particular reason, i just like them.

ok, this is the latest post for 12" w7 box so here is my question. My friend just had a box built for one of these things....its being powered by a JL 1000.1 amp.....

Heres the thing...the box is 5 cubes and tuned to 35 Hz.....does that sound like it will work right.... 2 4" ports I believe....Im about to hear it in a few...I just want to know if that sounds like a "proper" box.
