box for 12" rsd

im building a box for my friend for a 12" rsd. Hes going for mainly sq with the ability to get fairly loud. It'll be powered by about 500 to 600 watts. i was originally planning on going sealed, but im thinking a low tuned ported would work well to. What do you think would be best?

If it's a vehicle thats not a trunk car, like an suv or something go with sealed first. If that's not loud enough build a new box later. If it's a trunk car the go ported.

it is a trunk car. should i tune low like 28

and how big. Im thinking of doing Moe's plan for 2.5 cu ft @ 28hx. Sound good?

If you want to tune any lower than 28, then I'd just go with an oversized sealed. but 2.5@28hz sounds pretty goood.

well its built for the most part. Turned out pretty good considering im still a rookie

Its a pretty big box. Hopefully everything sound good. I still have to put on the top and wait for the carpet. thats gonna be the hard part.

no it doesn't looked mixxed up...having a bigger box tuned lower will have better sq by having a flatter extended bass shelf and having a smaller box tuned higher will be louder and have a higher peak causing more of a 'boom' box response

Yea, i guess 2.5 cu ft. tuned to 28hz would be considered biggeer and lower tuned. Im hoping for an awesome sound.
