Could anyone give me the correct or best sounding dimensions for a ported box for 2 15" subs (firing up) and a port (firing towards the trunk) tuned @ 36hz.

Sorry bout the lack of info I was pretty high when I wrote that....anyway

Im getting 2 AQ HDC3 15"

I'm not sure what they recommend

It's going in a hummer h3, I have 27x42x18 inches of free space, however I don't want to use all of the length.

24x42x18 will give you 8.1 cu/ft after port and displacement . This is using (2) 6 inch aero ports at 9.8 inches in length . This will give you a tuning of 36 hz . Giving you around 60 inches of port area.
