Box concept: HUGE Bandpass box?

I was sitting around thinking one day, and I got a somewhat crazy idea. Rather than use a bandpass box, why not make a bandpass chamber from the trunk and a regular box? With three 12s you could tune it looooooow and it would really bump, plus it wouldn't be hard to seal the trunk enough to make it a good chamber. Is this something people have done? I imagine it would take a lot of subs and what not but I think it could work. Thoughts?

generally speaking bandpass enclosures are peaky...very peaky..at least 4th orders are...6th orders may not be as bad, however...for daily listening - I highly suggest sticking with a simple ported or sealed enclosure

Why do you want a bandpass enclosure? Just asking for general board knowledge.

properly built/tuned bandpass boxes serve a purpose other then getting loud.
