Box Building Process. (Pics)

This is my first time building a sub enclosure so sorry if it doesn't look right or I used the wrong stuff to put it together. The box is for two 12" Kicker CVR's, the box is 4.7cf. With the divider each sub will get 2.35cf of volume. The deminsions are 32"w x 14"h x 23"d. The reccomended volume for the CVR's are 4.6cf. Sorry that it isn't finished yet, but I thought I'd share the pictures to see if I'm doing everything smoothly. I'll update with more pics once it's done if anyone cares.

Old Radio Shack prefab box sitting beside the new box. (New box not glued yet so that's why you see the large gap on top)

Shows how bigger it is compared to my old.

The sides and divider finally glued together along with the box terminal.

Next step is to cut the holes for the subs, re-silicone the cracks again to make sure there's no air leaks, and finally get the carpet put on and see how much of an improvement it is from my old one.

Any tips or advice? Hell I'll even take negative feedback. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Yeah a lot of people have told me that, but if the reccomended volume for the CVR's are 4.6cf (just 1) and I got each sub @ 2.35cf wouldn't that be fine? It's under half but I don't have the room to make a huge box. Also I forgot to mention that the first 2 pics are when the box was 27" depth, I cut it back to 23", so the other pics are how it looks currently. The old box made the subs hit hard but when it came to low freq. it sounded like ***.

I don't know, this is my first time so I'm hoping that box will be fine to make those subs sound better than before. If not, then I guess I learn from my mistakes. Heh.

No it was for sealed. In the booklet that came with the subs, it says:

Sealed Enclosure:

Compact (Minimum Enclosure Volume)

1.0ft3

SQ (Maximum Enclosure Volume)

4.6ft3

For ported it says

Ported Enclosure:

Compact

1.75cf3 / 2.5" x 12.5" port, 20" long

SPL/Deep Bass

2.25ft3

3" x 12.5" port, 20.5" long

What do you mean they'll die? They're rated at 400wrms a piece, so I'm lacking some watts. They could probably get a little more power but I don't see how putting them in a bigger box would kill them.
