got a couple questions.

Does a hairtrick mean loudness like can you be far louder and not have a hairtrick? What is actually required can you do it in ANY vehical i got 4 type rs bout 700 rms or so in to in a large 10 cube box tuned to 32 herts so its fairly deep large should be good for airflow id think? It moves hair but no trick lol but seen people do it with less on youtube

so is it dependent on the box, cone area actual port size my port is small i believe im not liking that lately seems bigger is louder??

or sheer power?

im not saying this is my GOAL but yeah kind of is lol i mean i can go and have been loud as hell i believe but i no tricks?

but subs are up port back in an explorer should i have port forward??

Sorry if it sounds confusing or noobish just trying to get some understanding

Also are there any CAD programs specific to boxes for audio or will work with it to calculte say a port frequency and internal cubic ft or anything of the sort if that isnt asking for way too much?

Thanks

The enclosure and install will make a huge difference as will the car itself.

Being able to do a hair trick has nothing what so ever to do with being "loud". It is about moving air.

As for any "here this is how you do it" programs or answers..you won't find any. It is all about trial and error or utilizing math/physics to ensure you are moving the most amount of air you can per your application.

okay well what numbers do i look for or like hints or like idk just been into car audio about a year year and half or so and ive owned SOOO much compared to most in my short time but it helps me learn what i like blah blah

but when it comes down to it i still feel i dont even really KNOW what those subs and stuff where really capable of i want to start getting into the building side ive build one nice slot ported box but i have no idea the tuning opr anything just built it large and knew a slight bit to get it a little deeper and its got some old school pioneers in them like 125 rms each lol they SLAM! i love the little guy that shocks me.

anyways i feel im getting confused and there is SOOO much idk where to start i mean i feel i know a lot for self taught like i have no frinds or "mentors" so its all me and its starting to get confusing

basically where do i really start like what numbers and what to do with them and such

i feel like a confused noob TOTALLY

problem with trial and error is i really cant afford the hobby as it is honestly if not for craigslist id probably have some garbage.

things get to be so much i still need to do some electrical upgrades and things like a HO alt and stuff get pricey

If you are getting heavy voltage drop, just get a big battery in the back (something like a deka or any AGM around 100AH). Doing hair tricks is not a very easy feat...I'm running an 18 off 2k and it doesn't really move that much air at all. It actually moves more air if both windows are down rather than just one. What kind of vehicle do you have? Smaller vehicles are easier to move air around.

normally having a lot of port area helps. Build a wall, easy hair tricks...

how much port area does your current box have and what's it tuned to? I would think your set up would do one, maybe try only 1 window down 1/2 way. Play something low around 30-35Hz...

You probably won't need an HO alt unless you're pushing over 2k... a simple battery and big 3 will help a lot if you're getting big voltage drops.

As for a hair trick, move as much air as possible, it has nothing to do with being loud. Small cabin, lots of port area, lots of cone area, low tuning, all that helps. It's not so much dependent on your equipment as it is your enclosure design.

well i mean im not sure of my ACTUAL RMS my supposed RMS is anywhere between 2000-3000 givin its an AP3000d

i have a 98 ford expoloder sport a 10 cube box tuned to 32 herts decently large port but i believe could stand to be much larger

my REAL primary set up which is in storage becuz i simply cant supply enough power yet i have 1/0 guage ran directly from my front bat which is a huge huge bat but idk how good it is honestly..just size wise its large ran into a nice optima redtop typically my lights dont dimm very bad untill after a couple of full songs at full volume but if i start to add more power i know my voltages are probably dropping under 11

and then i have a single 250 amp breaker ran 1/0 all the way through car and even direcvtly into amp

but i have 4 black rockford t1s 12s (trying to make it 6) (if your not a fan please dont lecture i happen to be very fond of them) and 2 audiopipe 3000d's to power the 4 or 6 if i can get the other 2..but i know im not throwing power at them like i want i need a high voltage ALT because most amps are rated at 14.4 volts at least audiopipe claims 16 WTF not cool...anyways i want REAL power and i want clean power i know audiopipe isnt exactly CLEAN power but i know it can b much more clean than im probably getting right now...

here is a pic of the box when it was originally made and installed for my caravan before the explorer (had a t2000 on it at the time) but same box
