Box builders...?

Ok a couple questions for someone with knowledge with boxes. To start I have a 12" Fi Q in a small sealed box right now. I am pretty happy with my setup except for the fact i dont get the sound pressure like some of my friends get with their subs with the same amount of wattage. Would a box change this or would that have to do with something else. I was thinking of getting a box to fit in my 97 grand prix ported for the fi q. any suggestions? ideas?

(i put a 4.0 cu ft box in a 97 monte carlo.... dont know how similar the body style is.)

im sure u have enough room for it
