Box build question

So i have started building my enclosure for 2x18 mayhems.

My max height i can go for the enclosure is 18.75 inch...

I wanted to fire subs up and port back.

Does it matter where i decide to cut the holes for my subs? Meaning to far side of the box, or in the middle of the box, or on the close side of the box( directly above the port exit)??

Hope i made my question clear. Anyway would love some feed back. Thanks in advance.

Kinda? You want the back of the subs to have breathing room and youll have a different response if you have your subs firing in the same direction as the port or opposite of it or wherever. Just acoustics of the car come into play there. Make sure to brace the fuck out of it. Just dont have the sub and port directly opposite of eachother.

Thanks alot for your reply. I attached a copy of my design. Where the drawn black xx are is where i was now thinking of placing the subs instead of the original place. Does this have consequences? And i shall brace the fck out of the box.

Yea, you can put your subs there.

Nope. Have you considered using an aeroport at all?

My previous boxes all had aeroports (round ports). And i wanted to use a slot port for once and see if they sound better. What do you think?
