Box Build for Twista89

looks pretty good. do you use a tablesaw? if so you shouldnt really need to cut the top bigger cause as long as your cuts are square and you glue it up square you should just be able to cut the top to the exact size

Yeah, I used a table saw. However, it doesn't have a very large fence. The cuts horizontally are perfectly square, however, since I have to feed it through by hand the wide way, since the fence won't go out that far, I can't be sure it's perfectly square... so it's easier to just leave a bit over overhand, then flush it with the adjacent panel. I'll show you what I mean, I've got some more pictures uploading, I just finished trimming all edges, routered out the holes for the terminal cups and did a 3/8ths round-over on the whole box.

See... no more overhang //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Since the box will be in raw wood, I think the roundover makes it look a little nicer than just square edges. One quick question though. I've carpeted boxes with 90* corners, but I see alot of the kicker pre-fab boxes have rounded edges and they still manage to make the carpet fit with no seams or wrinkles, any advice?

Got the box installed today...Can really tell the difference in loudness lol. Thing makes my heart skip beats now lol. Will post up pics tomorrow after I get my sundown installed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Holy shit was it a pain to get that box into that Grand Am. I felt bad lol. I met up with him at this audio vendor and we tried taking out the spare tire well to get some depth and nothing worked. The rain clouds and thunder were closing in and I had to get to a doctor's appointment. We ended up just putting the box in the back seat on one of his friend's lap //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Looks like he had to bend the rear deck support and unbolt the back seat and slide it in from the front. I bet it's a tight fit though, won't be going anywhere anytime soon. I pity the thief who tries to steal that setup //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
