Box Build for SVT RELAMPAGO 0.6ft^3 35hz

no update:crap:??
well ummm yeah... it was drying standing on it edge and it fell over and cracked open:verymad:.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif just kidding. I just have to do some good sanding on it and its ready for you to come pick it up.. most likely tomorrow...june 20

how far apart did you cut the relief cuts for the kerf? going to try one this weekend.
at first they were 3/4" apart from eachother but that just didnt work so i did 1 in between each 3/4" cut.

I went over it a few times.

Instead of doing more cuts, try to do them spaced very evenly and depth is key.

Ever take a slice of mdf... a 1/8" thick peace.. it bends but past a certain point it snaps.

Well now take a slice that's maybe 5x thicker than paper.... It will almost bend in half without snapping. This is what you want to achieve.

Just make sure that its not so thin that when you pick it up it will break apart.

I recommend doing a test strip just to see how thin you can get and how flexible it will be. This was also a rather very tight turning kerf on a really small box. If you want more information there was a thread about it somewhere on the forums. Goodluck

Box is complete and sanded down... keep in mind its just a test box but by no means is it ugly //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

my camera skills ftl

So Its not all that bad for a 30$ ebay sub

Not sure how much power i was feeding it, it was running off my 4ch orion

It was reading 3ohms so it probably saw around 140 watts max

The video doesn't do justice of it really

Sounds nice for something so small but placement really has a huge effect. I messed around with placement and such and noticed increase in spl.

So Lets hear some comments, and most importantly, how does the box look//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

port up sub forward was actually pretty **** loud in my truck, sorry i didnt get a vid tho.It was actually making the fabric on my seat pulsate with the beat:eek:

for the price, these subs are pretty killa
this mans work is outstanding:D the box came out beautifull. Now, I placed the box sub up port back in my hatch and it sound nice and pretty loud for an 8"(this is actually my first 8" sub)I couldnt be happpier. For a 30 bucks sub it does a great job.

Is that shit 1"?

can you elaborate?

thickness is 3/4"

and yes there were to many cuts.

at first i did 3/4" apart and it wouldn't bend enough so i thought more cuts was the answer.. which was false i just had to make them deeper and that worked just great.

Definitely learned on that and that's the reason this is a test box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

If i was on a really tight budget i wouldn't mind having it sit on my back seat for the time being =)
