Box build for MTX 15"

http://img108.imageshack.us/my.php?image=04080611217ig.jpg woods not even touching //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

what are the box dimensions?

yeah it is, the black paint just makes it look like it isnt. Plus it wasnt screwed it in that pic, so its maybe a little bit off of the wood.

dam 2 cubes for a 15? What sub is it? How big is that port? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Whats it tuned to?

He wanted it build to MTX specs for a ported box. Their spec sheet doesn't say what it is tuned to and I don't really want to do the math to figure it out. A MTX 15" Thunder 9500 is going in it. The port width is 2", extension length 8 5/8".

I demand a close up picture of that panel that isn't touching. The shadow that it makes varies, as well as the lack of glue that is apparent on every other panel seam.

And even if it is touching, a good tip is to remember to not glue onto paint. It's wood glue, not wood to lacquer glue. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

OFFTOPIC...

hofulstrof, pv audio......where did you get those avatars? are they actual box plans? i'm looking for a new project and those look fun.

and, how come there is only pics of a half built box???

enjoy.

mine is an abc box. which i have built and is currently in my car.

they are not half drawn.they just have the tops (and bottoms) removed so you can see the internals of the boxes. if i were to have left the top and bottom on line it wild just look like a a regular ported box with 2 ports and what fun is that.

pv's box looks to be a 4th order bandpass.but im sure he will enlighten you with the details

mrray13 your box looks to be comeing along very nicely.lots of braceing how did it sound? btw every time i click "enlarge picture" it doesnt enlarge

my bad, i wasn't referring to your avatars with the half finished statement.

i just downloaded the free trial version of sketchup after reading a few other posts.

not just bracing, it's a 4th order bandpass. the sealed side is stepped to gain need volume while lowering the ported sie's to the required size. sound? actually, amazing. with 250wrms going to the 15" treo ss inside, it sounds like 2 15's getting alot more power. with 600wrms going to it (the finished product), it's just flat out awesome.

are you using firefox? the earlier pics are uploaded to ssa's server and firefox doesn't like them. teh latter pics are direct linked from imageshack.
