What method is that? just taking a router and making grooves?

table saw - set the blade to 3/4 the thickness of the wood and make a bunch of cuts with it.
3/4"? i dont set it to that lol. would cut the wood. leave 1/16" of material from the top. les it will crack more it could crack but makes a more profound corner/buckle effect. with mdf you can cut and leave a little more than birch. also with birch you have to go with the grain or else it will split/crack

Nice work Don. A few questions though. Do you fill the kerfs with glue? or was the resin coating used to stabilize the curve? Do you even use screws,or is it all clamps and glue? I've used "FinnForm" to make a few boxes [shoring from work,so,free] as it's 13 ply, waterproof and takes end screws, but is hella heavy. How heavy is the birch compared to MDF,in the basic 3/4" thickness? Can "light" be bad in regards to box resonance? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm getting ready to "skin" my very low profile,2x2"steel box frame to hold my pair of Alpine SWR 8's.

Thanks,Steve

Nice work Don. A few questions though. Do you fill the kerfs with glue? or was the resin coating used to stabilize the curve? both. glue then resin Do you even use screws,or is it all clamps and glue? yes i use screws also. I've used "FinnForm" to make a few boxes [shoring from work,so,free] as it's 13 ply, waterproof and takes end screws, but is hella heavy. How heavy is the birch compared to MDF,in the basic 3/4" thickness? its half the weight. mdf sheet is about 98 pounds. Can "light" be bad in regards to box resonance? yes but density is key. Sorry for all the questions, but I'm getting ready to "skin" my very low profile,2x2"steel box frame to hold my pair of Alpine SWR 8's.

Thanks,Steve. No worries that what members are here for!
