That only works if the wood is rigid enough. Pine, even spruce won't do it. If possible, get a piece of bar stock or thick angle iron //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gifIf you're short on clamps, using another piece of wood to span the legnth of the joint will distribute extra force along the span. Not a replacement for extra clamps, but better.
I plan on picking up more clamps this week. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gifIf you're short on clamps, using another piece of wood to span the legnth of the joint will distribute extra force along the span. Georgia yellow pine works fine. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gifThat only works if the wood is rigid enough. Pine, even spruce won't do it. You just gave me a great idea, Wasted. That only works if the wood is rigid enough. Pine, even spruce won't do it. If possible, get a piece of bar stock or thick angle iron //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
I cant imagine something as soft as pine would be rigid enough, maybe with alot of clamps on the whole piece it will, but not necessarily on a long span..Georgia yellow pine works fine. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Yellow pine isn't very soft, very dense actually. A whole different league vs. white pine or spruce. It's often used to make beams since it's not prone to sag.I cant imagine something as soft as pine would be rigid enough, maybe with alot of clamps on the whole piece it will, but not necessarily on a long span..

And I think Bj is a god of all box builders...............
I want my fawking free box now mother F'er!
I wasn't riding his nuts. I was stating that his designs are solid, and he's a really good designer. I'm not saying that he's the god of designs. I said "odds are that it was the OP's building flaw, not design flaw."(quote from IDSKoT)
I hate people who think BJFish is the God-of-God of Box building and he shits Trupan and shit.
Get off his nuts, you aren't gunna get a prize or a free box.
lol you were riding pwk's nuts on my thread... you must hate yourself too![]()
building flaw:laugh: ive seen your work //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsdown.gif.d22f25895e9b40f2300c953691dacfa2.gif your first solo build was just recently lol...I wasn't riding his nuts. I was stating that his designs are solid, and he's a really good designer. I'm not saying that he's the god of designs. I said "odds are that it was the OP's building flaw, not design flaw."
And I also said, ride Fish's nuts... not people's nuts. So, basically, your own logic pwned you.
And, for the record, I think Fish is a great box builder. A phenominal one. It's just like SunDown on this forum, though. It's a great product, but people think that it's THE BEST. When it's not. It's Great... but not 'the best.'
