Box and power for a AA Assassin 8

should i use moes .9 @35 or his 1.25 plans @ 32 for my assassin 8. And how much power do you think i should use. Im taking out my 18 for a little till i get enough money and time to build my 8 cf ported box for it. Im going for spl here which should i do

i don't think you even need the box that big. tuning it that low will help it extend deeper, but it won't be as loud overall. i'd probably tune it closer to the 40Hz AA recommends. you have to remember this is 8" vs 18" that you have now. it's not going to play as low naturally, so tuning it too low may actually cause more a bass shelf and a normal roll-off.

it can easily handle 400-500W, just don't go too crazy. if it's strainng, just back it off a little.

i think ill go with the .9 then and i would tune it to 40 but free plans are free so i might as well use them. And its only for like a week to hold over the thing were all addicted to

it's around 0.7-0.75ft^3 tuned to about 40Hz.

are those plans provided by AA i think ill go that way since ittl use less wood and not have a half mile port. Are you an aeroport person

yeah, AA posted box plans recently. the one for the assassin 12's is messed up though. i haven't checked any other's but that box (for the 8" is to the specs i posted above).

air likes 90 degree turns better than 180 degrees, aero's are too spendy for me

if u want some tpe of output try a 4th order bandpass tuned to 40hz

u wont be as loud as your 18 but u will be louder than a regular ported box(within a given frequency range)

hey 80, i was wondering if i'd be able to do a 4th order in my trunk for two arsenal's?

i've got a 32"W x 14"T x 23"D box right now. the 32 and 14 are the biggest i can go, but i can probably do 30"D if the port fires out the side.

let me know if you're willing to run any numbers for me (for free //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif) also i'd like to do it with slot ports (if that's possible).

yeah, sometimes it can't be avoided, but i don't like them anyways.

that would be sweet but wouldnt i have to run it off of the front or rear speaker rca outputs and then just run a lowpass at like 200 or whereever it would need to be

if you did a 6th order i think the slopes on the upper and lower end would be steep enough that you wouldn't need any filters (but i could be wrong)
