Box Advise for 2 ID CTX 12's

I picked up a pair of image dynamics CTX 12's for my girls car. Right now she has an 97 acura cl with a single 12'' kicker comp off 270 watts rms. Box is tuned to 37 hz. Got a deal from a local member on these ID's, I want to build a box around 32-34hz for these, the recommended enclosures for ported on the ID are all tuned to 28 hz, I don't want to tune that low because i'm worried it wont hit around the 40 range at all. I'm aware these are more SQ oriented and are made to be this low. I'm shooting for them to have more output than the current kicker comp and still get decently low. I will get a larger amp and feed the pair about 400-500 rms.

These are supposed to be some surprisingly decent budget subs.

Low tuning may be recommended to avoid a steep drop off below tuning.

Use WinISD to model up the different options and see what looks best for you.

6cf @ 30hz

peaks around 45-50 with about 5db of gain in bbp. Cabin gain would change that obviously.

how much space can you take up. 6cubes plus a port would probably be to big for that car.

im trying to get 4 cubes out of it. she wants a little bit of trunk space still.

The smaller box would need a higher tuning.35hz would be reasonable.

The below figures are for 35hz tuning.

A 4 cube box would be around 5 cubes after port displacement (60sq in port 27in long)

if you want the whole deal in 4 cubes then 3.5 with a port of 40 sqin 20in long.

The port is kinda small but that is the trade off with small enclosures.

runnin them subs sealed takes 3 cubic feet. if i remember right it's 2.5 ported. if your not in a rush i can find out definatley monday. i'll contact eric at ID and see what he can come up with. also how much power did you say your feeding it now? and plan to feed it later that makes a difference too.
