box adjustment idea

Ive got a little money to spend and have come up with an idea but I thought id see what you guys think of it. If it might work; cool, if not I dont have my heart set on this so no big deal. The box I currently have is what is portrayed in the pic below. The speakers are 3 10" L7's and box specs are 3.5 cubes tuned to 37hz.

Heres my idea: I have some mdf laying around and if possible wouldnt mind adding another L7, I dont have enough mdf to build another box & dont care to so here is what I thought about doing. Cutting a piece (or two) of mdf to fit over the front of the box where the speakers are currently mounted and glue/screw those pieces down to the front similar to a double baffle. From that point I would remeasure/cut holes for 4 speakers to fit rather than 3. I have measured and given that all speakers would be mounted touching eachother or slightly spaced they should fit no problem. Its just the matter of weather there will still be a decent amount of airspace and how much the tuning will be affected.

If the box is right for 3 it won't be for 4. Probably not even close.
Thats what I figured, no problem though afterall it was just an idea that I thought I could possibly pull off. Maybe ill buy 2 more L7's and build a sealed box for them. Something about both of the ported boxes ive tried doesnt sound right. The bass is just a brrrrrrr rather than a nice deep sound.
