Bought a home theater sub from best buy. Hate it. Can I return it for that reason???

This makes me miss my HT setup in storage right now...........just to much for an apartment, lol!

Onkyo 7.1 1000 watt receiver and have JBL Towers, center and Klipsch 12" sub and Klipsch surround speakers in the back. Eventually getting the Klipsch towers and center, but money issue......but more or so no point getting anything till we get a house.

Right now I have a 2 bedroom apartment that is 1200sqft, but the walls are extremely thin.......can hear conversations.......yes it does blow! Hell my Phillips HT setup is too much at times, lol!

Have a good couple G's in the good system and 200 in the Phillips, lol!

I have actually heard that Polk sub and it isn't to bad. Maybe you got a bad one or something?

I really wanna build this **** thing. But can't figure out what way to go. I would like to actually try a sonotube enclosure. Any links to build logs or a good how to? I liked the one earlier in this thread. Looked real nice

Thanks. Just a few questions tho.

What's on the outside? Vinyl?

And what's on the insde.

So these are the same types of sonotubes I've been using in construction for the past 10 years for concrete forms?? That's crazy. And hard to believe that cardboard is heavy duty enough not to flex. I would have thought for sure you would put resin in it or something. Just seems weird to have a crrdboard box lol

For one that cardboard is pressed and dense, next, the shape adds a lot of strength. Think about it this way, how much weight and force do you thin wet concrete puts on it when you make forms //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The outside it finished in any fashion you want just like mdf. Vinyl is a good choice. Inside is the same as any other enclosure. Same principles apply.

I have read about some different DIY'ers that have cut rings the size of the inner diameter to help strengthen the tube.

Using Sonatube as a vented enclousre also helps reduce the pressure it is going to withstand

But if you want to make sure you won't have problems just ask for the heavy duty wall sonatube... Those bad boys allow you to pour upto 20' in a single pour! The kind of pour creates over 2000 lbs of presure!!

You can do that if it will put your mind at ease, however, I know for a fact it holds my fatass quite well with no flex lel. Shit aint flexin.
